Crazy Busy & Loving It!!!
Sorry we have been absent from the blogging world so long. So much has happened. I don't know where to start. Let me just say that Jeremy is loving his school. The kids are great, the athletic director and his wife are great and the sports are going great. We finished football with a record of 7-2. We were very pleased with how football ended. Now we are on to basketball. Jeremy is enjoying the boys and being able to teach them his program. A lot of the kids have never really played before so he is having lots of fun teaching the basics.
I decided in late July that it would be best for us financially and also personally if I pursued my teaching degree. So in August I started working with the Service Center in San Antonio on getting certified to teach business with the intention of doing an internship next school year and then being a teacher forever. Well apparently God has been patiently waiting for me to make this decision for a while. On October 30, I got an email from my education specialist that there was a job opening for a business teacher at a charter high school in San Antonio and gave me the name of the HR person to call. I got a hold of her on Halloween, she asked me to come interview on November 1st and they called to offer me the job Friday the 2nd at 3:00. They said I had to start on Monday because it was the start of the new semester. So at 4:00 on Friday I quit my job. The people at my old job were super supportive and were very nice to let me go without any notice. On Saturday, Jeremy and I drove to my school and I filled out all the paperwork, saw my classroom and met a few other teachers who were there. I started teaching on Monday. I was very overwhelmed and the kids took most of the week to get used to the idea of having a new teacher.
We also traded in the Tahoe for a Scion something (it's a two door) for better gas mileage for me. I get to start driving it on Monday. Jeremy and I have always believed that God works quickly on working things out and we have always had peace with how things work out, but this time it was too crazy for me. The thought never crossed our minds that I would be a teacher now. I have to keep reminding myself that this is God's plan and I am just along for the ride. Please pray the ride will be smooth.

Scrimmage and Schedule

Last saturday was our second scrimmage of the year. We did lots better than the first one to say the least. This coming week we play a school out of Fort Worth who is driving here to play us.
We got Rita her new camera (she isn't supposed to get it till her birthday) so she can take pictures. Bloggin without photos kinda sucks.

Tuesday was eventful
Tuesday was a big day because our house paperwork was finalized and we are no longer home owners. Thank the Lord.Of course we ended up having to take out a large loan to cover our costs to even get out of the house, but at least we are done with it.That is such a huge burden lifted off our shoulders.
Also on Tuesday there was an article that was coming out on new coaches in the area. I had been interviewed on Monday at lunch and again several hours later. The guy who wrote the article played at Tech under Bob Knight for a year, and grew up in
Houston. We talked basketball for a long time, much more than regular "interview" questions as he put it. He told me the article would run some time soon after he contacted some other coaches in the area. Then he called back to ask for a small picture (which doesn't appear in the online version) and told me the article would run on Tuesday. At no point did he say anything about it being a feature just on me, or that it would run as the top story on the Sports page. The link to that article is the Title of the blog.
Its funny because my family keeps saying how proud they are of me. I tell them all I did was accept this job and answer some questions, not much to be proud of. Oh yeah, most of you know my mom and she is hilarious. She wants lots of copies of the physical newspaper to give to family and stuff, but heres the funny part, she wants them all signed. I love her, she cracks me up.
SO if any of you want an autographed version, let me know. If I could only get a feature in LCU reflections then I would really have arrived. HA!

We Are Home!!!
Jeremy and I have had a very eventful few weeks since our last post. We really enjoyed our vacation to Portland. It was just what we needed. We were able to forget about the house not selling, stress about moving and all the other Gun Barrel City stuff we hated. Chris and Sarah and Robby and Lynsey were great hosts. I really didn't want to come back to Texas at all. But, of course I did. The flight home was quite an ordeal. Long story short, we spent most of the day on the plane in Tulsa, OK on the ground. Not fun at all. Jeremy's poor mom had to deal with two very grumpy people on the way home to GBC.
We spent the rest of that week packing. On Thursday Adam came and helped load our Uhaul trailer. What a great help that was. I don't think Jeremy and I could have done it alone. On Friday morning my dad and Marrion came and we loaded his trailer with what would fit and headed to Kerrville. We had a good trip until we got about an hour and a half from Kerrville when my dad's trailer had a blow out. He is very handy and changed the tire really quick but we had to go 45 mph the rest of the way. It made for a exhausting trip. The next day my step brother, Darren and his family came and helped us move in all our junk.
We have rented a two bedroom apartment above the garage of some very nice people. It is smaller than our house so we have stored some of our belongings. It is really cute. We have a huge deck off our living room that has a great view of their land. Lots of trees and hills. Also, we have a gameroom that the family that graciously has let us use any time we want.
On Monday we got news that we had an offer on the house. Praise the Lord!!! Hopefully that will go smoothly and we will no longer own a house as of July 24th. We were getting pretty stressed and at our wits end about what to do. Also I go a job this week. Yea!! I will be working for a company that looks over corporation's taxes and financial records to see if they have overpaid sales or income taxes. My job is to call the vendor's of those corporations to help them get a refund. It is full time with a full benefits package. I start on July 9th so I still have time to get things organized around here.
I would love to post some pictures of Portland and our new place, but we lost our camera between Portland and GBC. I am very sad. We had great pictures of Portland.
We will try to post more often. Take care everybody. Come see us! It is great here!!

AAAHHHH Crap
I had a long blog about our upcoming vacation to Oregon and about looking for rental property this weekend in Kerrville (no the house has not sold) and I hit preview and somehow lost the whole thing.
I HATE THAT!!
Here is a picture of Yoda in a box to ease your pain of my lost blog.

Sick Day Friday
You gotta love sticking it to the man. There are 19 days of school left. The last 2 days are final and are half days so they barely count. Of the nineteen days left I am using 5 1/2 sick days (mostly Fridays) as well as being off two days to go to the state track meet. In fact I spend as much time out of school as possible. Since the first week of March I have only spent one full week (completing all 7 periods of every day) at school. With everything piling up at the end with track and trips to Lubbock and Kerrville I feel like I'm stealing money from the school. Which is actually stealing from district, state, and finally taxpayers. So, I guess what I've really done is stick it to all of you out there paying taxes (as well as myself...crap!!) Well, you're welcome. I've screwed you all!!
PS We lowered the price on our house because we are getting desperate. We really don't want to lease it or turn it over to the mortgage company and destroy our credit, so please pray that somebody will help us out soon. Like now, because we are moving June 9th.
And here is a picture of Yoda looking over the bar from a stool. Makes me laugh.

Finally, a good day.
First off let me say, that on top of all the issues going on at Kemp that they went and fired two more of my friends. The three guys that I got along best with, or took to as a mentor early on, have now all been fired during the year.
Because of said issues above Rita and I decided to have a day away from the vortex. We have always loved the zoo and have visited zoos in almost every place that we have visited since we were first married. Something about seeing all the wild and majestic animals caged and spirits broken to help one realize just how much worse things could be. The zoo was in Fort Worth and we were finished there around 3:30 and we knew Adam was in Dallas so we decided to call him to possibly meet for dinner.
Adam, before we could offer dinner, offered us tickets to the Rangers game that evening, we accepted and told him we would treat him to Olive Garden since I had a gift certificate from coaching in a basketball all-star game a few weeks ago.
The game was awesome. I hadn't been to a Rangers game in "The Ballpark" and needless to say it is very impressive. Our seats were in the top deck behind home plate and it made for an interesting view of the game. Every time someone hit we had no idea where exactly it was going, they all looked fair to us until the ball hit someone in the head. Again someone else's pain reminds me to be thankful. The Rangers won 6-0 over the A's.
After the game there was a fireworks show, that lasted at least 20 minutes, with music themes of TV shows. IT was a great ending to an almost perfect day....
I said almost perfect. Rita and I had gone and bought an outfit just for summer because we wanted to and it felt good. (Why put this here you ask?) Just as the fireworks ended and the lights of the stadium were turned on and warming up so everyone could leave, Rita and I (maybe Adam too)were treated to some random dumba$$ spilling most of his 44oz drink all over our heads and backs. So that began our two and half hour journey of stickiness home. My new shirt won't let go of the stain either. (Rita is taking suggestions) With that end we still could only talk of how much we had enjoyed our day away from hell.
